CENTRE FOR CANCER BIOMARKERS

The University of Manchester is a recognised world leader in cancer research. This position has been achieved by working in close partnership with the biggest cancer centre in Europe, The Christie Hospital and the largest cancer research charity in the world, Cancer Research UK.

Now cancer research in Manchester is poised to enter a new era which will impact patient treatment across the world, but to make this vision a reality we need your support.

"Our vision is to establish a new UK centre of excellence for this vitally important area of cancer research, with patients at the heart of our mission.

"Our new Centre for Cancer Biomarkers will take its place amongst the world's elite as one of only a handful of institutions pioneering this approach in an exciting new era of precision medicine. With our focus firmly on patients – and working hand-in-hand with the Christie Hospital next door – our new Centre will fast-track promising biomarkers to deliver effective, new, personalised cancer treatments as quickly as possible."

Biomarker blood tests hold the key to a new era of precision medicine for cancer patients. And at our new Centre for Cancer Biomarkers, our world class expertise in this field will enable us to develop new and better treatments, "made to measure" for each individual patient.
